Clarke Financial Group supports its financial institution clients with a group of professionals that have extensive experience in training, marketing, and selling in the financial institution market-place. Our current financial institution clients include over 50 institutions. Clarke Financial Group has been serving the financial institution marketplace successfully since 1992.

Clarke Financial Group Management
Clarke Financial Group’s two principals, Steve Gates and Michael Denton have extensive expertise and experience in the financial services industry and specifically in the financial institution marketplace.
Steve Gates
After graduating from Occidental College in 1982 Steve Gates began his financial services career as a full service stockbroker. In early 1988 Steve was recruited to Sun America as a Regional Marketing Director to develop and manage annuity distribution through financial institutions.
In 1992 Steve founded Clarke Financial Group to distribute annuities through the financial institution channel.
Later in 1993 Steve was a founding partner in Pacific Financial Partners, Inc. (PFP). PFP offered full service and unbundled securities and insurance services to financial institutions. PFP was successfully merged into Wall Street Investors Services, Inc. (WSIS) in 1995 and Steve was retained to develop and manage business in the Western United States. He continued with WSIS until 1996 when WSIS was purchased by Liberty Financial. Since that time Steve has concentrated all of his efforts on the growth and success of Clarke Financial Group, Inc.
Michael Denton
Michael Denton started his financial services career in 1981 where he founded his own multi-state financial planning firm, marketing insurance products and securities in Portland, Oregon. After selling his firm in 1989 he joined Marketing One Inc, a third party marketing firm for the bank marketplace as vice president and product manager. In this position he preformed insurance carrier and mutual fund due diligence while designing and developing new products.
Michael joined Laughlin Group of Companies as president of Laughlin Retail Services in 1994. In this role he managed the broker dealer and the distribution and marketing of all products to the bank marketplace.
Prior to joining Clarke Financial Group Michael was a senior vice president of Jefferson Pilot. He managed the Financial Institution Marketing division where he directed the distribution of annuities and life insurance.
